BRITISH FILM SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE DOMINATES

THE GOLDEN GLOBES AND CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE won big in the US last night taking four prestigious Golden Globe awards for Best Picture in the Drama category, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Screenplay for Simon Beaufoy and Best Original Score in a Motion Picture for Composer A. R. Rahman.

Proving that it’s no longer the underdog, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE also won five prizes at the LA Critics’ Choice Awards on Friday, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Writer, Best Composer and Best Young Actor for Dev Patel.

Released by Pathé in the UK on Friday, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE currently sits at number two in the top ten, with the highest screen average of all films on release (£5640) and a total Box Office of £1,827,488 for its opening weekend.

Yes Yes,

What a film and a direction, what a cast and also to point out great stuff to see a young UK British Asian actor in the main role of the film.  This was a fantastic watch and at times very sad to see what goes on...  The only thing that I questioned was the fact that if Danny Boyle did not make this film and it was an Indian based production team and came out with the same quality would it it got this global recognition....?
