Desmond Ballentine, more popularly known as dancehall deejay “Ninja Man”, was this evening charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm. The charges stem from an incident earlier this week in Marl Road, Olympic Gardens, where a 20 year old man - Ricardo Johnson - was shot and killed at his gate, after an altercation with several men who were traveling in a motor vehicle.

Ninja Man turned up at the Hunts Bay police station yesterday for questioning on the matter, and was arrested but not actually charged until this evening. More details soon.

Head of the Major Investigations Task force (MIT), Assistant Police Commissioner Les Green, reportedly said the police had a “good” case against Ninja Man. They are now searching for two other men who were also implicated in the murder.
